Aurora Shimshak is a first year nonfiction student in UNCW's MFA program. Before moving to Wilmington, she taught high school English and spent every winter plotting her escape from the polar vortexes of Wisconsin. These days, when she's not typing away on her on laptop, you can find her walking through her neighborhood admiring gardens, brightly painted bungalows, and bald cypress trees.
