Wilmington, NC – Survivors of Pear Harbor from across southeastern North Carolina will converge onto Battleship Park this Pearl Harbor Day to mark the 65th anniversary of the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.

Wilmington, NC – A grand jury has indicted former New Hanover County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Long on charges of 2nd degree murder for the death of Peyton Strickland.
Long appeared in Superior Court in Wilmington Monday afternoon.
Long was part of an elite New Hanover County Sheriff's unit that teamed up with UNCW police to issue search-and-arrest warrants for Strickland December 1st. Strickland was shot and killed inside the doorway of his home.
