About "Line and Paper" The Works of Fashion Illustrator Susan Dade and Collages of Lori Joy: The pieces displayed in "Line and Paper" were designed to reflect the beauty of fashion. Peterson used collage to create the pieces so the models would be fun, colorful and lively. Dade blends pieces she created as an illustrator of high fashion in magazines with her love of watercolors and the charming waterfronts of the North Carolina coast. Together, they create fascinating and beautiful perspectives on fashion.

Susan Dade's Bio:

Susan Dade is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. She began her career as a high fashion illustrator for Women's Wear Daily and Glamour Magazine. After staff jobs in the New York fashion world, Susan went on to teach at The Fashion Institute of Technology and Traphagen School of Fashion in NY for many years. Tired of the hectic city life she was ready for a change of pace and a warmer climate. Having vacationed in the area, Susan and her husband moved to Brunswick County. Now, instead of sketching models, she paints landscapes, waterfronts and marshes. Her paintings are free and loose, yet detailed. Her palette is bold, colorful and expressive. As a watercolorist, Susan's style is uniquely her own. She has earned numerous awards and is collected by many in the Coastal Carolinas.

Lori Joy Peterson's Bio:

She was a Regional Artist Project Grant Award Winner for the 2015-2016 cycle and served as an Art Consultant for the September 2016 issue of Cape Fear Living Magazine. Her work has been displayed at numerous places including the Latimer House, the Bellamy Mansion, Port City Java (Wilmington and Southport), the NC Arboretum, and the Landfall Clubhouse. Lori Joy's fashion illustrations are currently used as the window display at Art off the Wall on Castle Street in Wilmington, NC.
