Greta Swaim
Greta was educated at the Vancouver Museum of Art, the Art Institute in Vancouver, British Columbia, and at Northern Arizona State University in Flagstaff, Arizona. However these schools only gave a base training for her unique style. She is described as a linear expressionist, but labels don't explain the incredible diversity and beauty of her work.
Greta works intuitively, drawing her inspiration from music, which she translates into visuals that reflect the flow and sound as abstract, linear composition that allows shapes and ideas to express themselves. All of her work is "gallery wrapped" to add an additional three dimensional effect to her painting. She works with paper or canvas, and chooses acrylic or oil as necessary to improvise the form and flow of her work. Her distinctive style, which allows the viewer to appreciate her work from any angle, has made her work highly collectible.
