With recent audience polls and pledge drive feedback, WHQR has decided to reevaluate some of its musical offerings. Starting this month, I will be transitioning the bulk of music programming duties to current intern John Mortara. Though I will miss it deeply, I have been told that John has a good ear for what all the hip 20-somethings like to hear on the radio.

Mon, 01 Apr 2013 13:00:00 +0000 Bob Workmon 34025 at http://whqr.org By popular demand: WHQR's schedule will soon cater to youth audience My Top Five: Books I'm excited to read in 2013 http://whqr.org/post/my-top-five-books-im-excited-read-2013
I often have trouble motivating myself to read recent books -- after all, there are thousands of years of world literature out there and I've only made it through the tiniest fraction! But I'll never finish all of the novels ever written, so in 2013, I am going to read at least five brand new works of fiction. I wouldn't quite call it a resolution, since those are destined to fail (and since it's already halfway through January), and because resolution implies some sort of struggle or sacrifice. These are all books I'm eagerly waiting to hit the bookstore and library shelves.
Thu, 17 Jan 2013 16:07:48 +0000 Michelle Crouch 30274 at http://whqr.org My Top Five: Books I'm excited to read in 2013 A Day in the Life of a Graduate Intern at WHQR http://whqr.org/post/day-life-graduate-intern-whqr
I'm Laura, a Graduate student at UNCW, and working at WHQR is one of the coolest jobs I've ever had.
