Diane Rehm's husband, John Rehm, passed away yesterday. Diane has deeply appreciated the many kind words of support during John’s long illness. &nbsp;<br />&nbsp;<br />Katty Kay is hosting The Diane Rehm Show today. What listeners are hearing is the natural phenomenon of "tropospheric ducting." While tropospheric propagation&nbsp;can do some really cool stuff to radio signals (like bounce them from very, very far away), it mostly just mixes distant signals broadcasting at the same frequency. A logging crew was removing a dead tree and the tree came down on the power line leading to our transmitter site!
