MBSR teaches meditation and gentle yoga to cultivate awareness, reduce stress and create a greater sense of peace and wellbeing. MBSR was created on the foundation of the ancient practice of mindfulness, which encourages being fully present in our lives with greater peace and ease. People take an MBSR course for reasons that include stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, GI distress, chronic illness, fatigue, heart disease, insomnia, and grief/ loss. The class is a compliment to, not a substitute for, medical and psychological treatment. There is a free orientation for the class on Wed August 30 at 6pm.
