Susan and Clancy Thompson
A married couple, Susan, a renowned photographer, and Clancy, a sculptor, also married their artwork to create Shaped by the Sea Fine Art and Photography in 2000. The combination has proved very successful as their work took first place in the 2005 Celebration Arts Festival and led to individual shows at TAG Gallery, the Spadefish Gallery at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Miss Marie's Gallery in Beaufort, NC.
Their unique approach artistically reveals the natural beauty of found and natural objects from the ocean. They take these "cast away"
objects and give them new life by creating a new way of looking at these fragments from the sea. Clancy's sculpture's eye and Susan's expertise with a camera create a new art form that allows the viewer to see the ocean in a whole new way.
