Tracey Wilkes is the founder and Executive Director of DREAMS of Wilmington which provides arts education and inspiration to children who have no other access to these valuable things. A new theatre and arts events company called C'est la Guerre presents 'The Lady in Question' by Charles Busch. It stars George Domby in the title role, and it is a satire of 1940's romantic thrillers. Almost all of the female roles are played be men in drag. The Pender County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association presents its Fall Plant Sale this Friday from 12-6 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am -12 pm at Hampstead United Methodist Church. Master Gardener, Steve Bundy, Event Chair told us what to expect - including the opportunity to buy plants that are pollinators, deer resistant, drought resistant and salt resistant. Proceeds will benefit programs that bring gardening into Pender County Schools.

Glenn and his wife Stephanie are bringing back Grooves in the Grove, a series of free concerts they presented last year at Poplar Grove Plantation in Scotts Hill that proved to be enormously popular. Folks are invited to bring a picnic, coolers, chairs and blankets for an evening of music and fun from 5 to 7 PM on Sundays. The series runs from Sunday, September 7 to Sunday, October 26.
