Today is the day, boys and girls, when we deal with some technical issues. We are after all in the business of working with audio and computer technology all day long. Not all of these will affect every listener, but I hope they’re of interest.
Last week’s Fresh Voices commentary by New Hanover High School student Patrick Peoples drew some reaction. Mary B wrote:
Terrific commentary - thank you for sharing your memories and challenges.
Walter James Duke wrote:
[I] wanted to express my appreciation to Mr. Peoples for sharing this and to thank WHQR for having the courage to allow Patrick's thoughtful and touching commentary on what is a often a very sensitive topic in our community. Thank you!
In this week's big news, listeners all over the region were anxiously tuned in to WHQR on Sunday night to see if we'd do it yet one more time. Frequent correspondent Nancy Geimer wrote to us on Monday:
Yay!! RadioLab this week was a program we've never heard before, and we enjoyed it. We look forward to hearing another program that we've never heard before, next week! Thanks for all you do.
I wrote back to Nancy and asked if could use her name. Her reply?
Why not? I'm starting to feel like a minor celebrity!
Last week it was comments about music, this week it’s the technology help desk.
Listeners Bob and Cathy wrote:
We are trying to listen to Smooth Landings and cannot get the station to live stream during that show or at any time. The Classical station comes in but not George. We miss Smooth Landings and George and his guest DJs. It’s the best 30 minutes of music on the radio, period!
