During our Classical block on Tuesdays through Fridays at 12:06, Jemila Ericson and other staff members host a celebration of the arts and culture of the Lower Cape Fear. They interview artists, actors, dancers, writers and creators of community events--all the inspiring movers and shakers who enrich our lives.

Midday Interview: John Devaney and Barb Biehner on the Cape Fear Clinic

John Devaney (Executive Director) and Barb Biehner (President of the Board) from Cape Fear Clinic told us about the work the clinic does every day.  There is a Behind the Scenes fundraising breakfast on Tuesday, May 20th from 7:30 to 9:00 at The City Club at DeRossett House. 

The breakfast is free, but registration is needed so enough food will be ready.  Donations will be received, and there will be a Silent Auction to raise funds.

Midday Interview: Richard Williams on The Lyra Vocal Ensemble's Visit to Wilmington

Richard Williams told us about The Lyra Vocal Ensemble of St. Petersburg, Russia.  Four singers from that a cappella group will be at Church of the Servant Episcopal on Sunday, May 18th at 7:30pm.  They will sing music from the Russian Orthodox Church and Russian folk music.  It’s not a worship service, but a concert, so all are invited!

Midday Interview: Ronnie Wise on Reviving the Wilmington Boys Choir

Ronnie Wise, Music Director of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, is reviving the popular Wilmington Boys Choir.  It is open to boys age 7 through voice change.  Two Open Houses for interested boys and their families are scheduled for Saturday, May 17th at 9 am and 1 pm, at St. Paul’s.
