Alexa Doran is a third year poet in UNCW's MFA program. Born in Syracuse, New York she moved to Clarksville, TN when she was 18 and completed both her B.A. in English and M.A. in Creative Writing at Austin Peay State University while living there. Two years ago she breezed into Wilmington, North Carolina and has been writing poetry by the sea ever since.

We're SO Close!!!!

Soup to Nuts Live!: Randy McQuay

Randy McQuay

With a soulful voice, a bottomless bag of guitar licks, and a mean harmonica, Randy McQuay has been making a mark for himself since his high school days in Brunswick County. He cut his teeth at Cape Fear Blues Jams, formed the vivacious RootSoul Project, and pursued a solo career that has truly come into its own in recent years. He's a two-time winner of the Cape Fear Blues Challenge, twice opening the door to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. He brought home the Lee Oskar Harmonica Player Award in 2012 and was crowned IBC Solo Champion in January 2015.
