News about upcoming WHQR sponsored events.

On Sunday, August 17 WHQR listeners, members, staff and volunteers gathered together in the picnic area of Tidal Creek on Oleander for the common cause of...ice cream! and, of course, public radio. People from all walks of life enjoyed a few hours of fun and relaxation while WHQR station staff scooped several flavors of frozen delights from Velvet Freeze into their cups and cones.

Written and directed by legend Woody Allen, Magic in the Moonlight brings such talents as Colin Firth, Emma Stone, Antonia Clarke and Natasha Andrews together in a romantic comedy that is sure to enchant. Set in the 1920s on the opulent Riviera in the south of France, Woody Allen's Magic In The Moonlight is about a master magician (Colin Firth) trying to expose a psychic medium (Emma Stone) as a fake.  (PG-13, 1hr 40 min)

Based on a John le Carre novel, this extraordinary thriller starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, Rachel McAdams and Willem Dafoe, will throw you head first into the high stakes world of international crime and intrigue.
